Transitional Kindergarten Class

Transitional Kindergarten is a class offered especially for those who either just barely miss the Kindergarten cut-off; or those who barely make the cut-off and their parent's feel as though they aren't quite ready to move on; or simply because they've already had two years of preschool and would like a more challenging curriculum before entering Kindergarten." It's a soft place to fall!

A few notes...

  • Please remember to sign-in daily. This helps us with attendance.
  • Remember that the school doors won't open until 9:00 a.m. for school to start, and 12:15 for pick-up. If you need to either pick-up early, please let us know and we can let you in.
  • Early Care is from 8-9 a.m. Anyone who comes in the building prior to 9:00 will be considered Early Care and be charged $5.00 for the morning.
  • All "Blue Health Forms" and Birth Certificates need to be in the office as soon as possible. This is a Va. Guideline.
  • Please spread the word to everyone you know that we still have a few spots available. Our wish is to be at this year’s capacity of 80 children!

Health Alert & Party Sign-Up
Please make sure to check the Health Alert in your child’s classroom. It is vital that you list any health alert on this sheet. If there is a substitute teacher in the classroom, or administrative personnel in the room and an incident takes place, we need that information readily available without having to go to the office and pulling the child’s file. Also, you need to quickly sign-up for the class party that your family would like to host this year. In order to sign-up for something that will fit well with your family’s schedules, it’s important to sign-up soon!

Change of Clothes
It is also important to have a complete set of clothes for your child here at school. Please label every piece. This way if your child has an accident, or their neighbor accidentally spills juice on them at lunch, we can have your child in a dry change of clothes. Please place them in a gallon size zip lock bag and label the bag with your child’s name also. You may turn them in to your teacher as soon as possible.
