Mission Statement
Northridge Preschool is a half-day academic Christian preschool dedicated to achieving a positive learning experience. We do this by drawing on the initiative of each child in an atmosphere of Christian love and understanding.

Curriculum Overview
Our curriculum is centered on a “letter-of-the-week” program that is phonetically based. Each teacher will develop their own daily lesson plan from a variety of resources. The daily plan will include, but not be limited to: circle time; introduction of letters, sounds, and numbers; creative play, art, music, science, and Bible. The 3-Year-Old program will introduce most of these concepts and the 4-Year-Old program will develop them further with an emphasis on independence and Kindergarten readiness. We will also provide a foundation of positive social skills which will be practiced by both students and staff.

Staff Qualifications
Staff members must be of proven and good character. Teachers must have received prior training and/or experience through a college degree program or as a teacher’s aide while working in a classroom setting. As required by state law, all staff members are certified annually by a practicing physician to be free from any disabilities which would prevent them from properly caring for the children.

Student Eligibility
Children must be 3 or 4 years old, respectively, by October 1st (possible exceptions of November birthdays on a case-by-case basis). We limit our enrollment for each class to 10 students per day per teacher.

Virginia State Licensing Status
In compliance with the code of Virginia, we are exempt from licensure and is classified as a religious exempt preschool. We are, however, inspected by the local Health and Fire Departments to maintain standards.

History
Northridge Preschool is a ministry of Northridge Community Church, a Church of the Nazarene. This places the spiritual and doctrinal context of our preschool within the main stream of Protestant Christianity. For more information on the Church of the Nazarene, please visit our denominational website at www.nazarene.org.
